About Bıttım Soap…
Bıttım Soap is a special beauty soap produced in the eastern part of the Southeast Anatolia. It is also known as ‘Botan Soap’ in the region. The original homeland of the soap is Mardin Botan area. This area extends from Mardin to the Cizre County of Şırnak City.
Morphological Properties of Bıttım
Bıttım tree’s height is up to 6-9 meters. Combined leaves that are aligned facing one another are composed of 5 – 11 bright flakes and emit a smell of resin. Flowers in reddish purple color are seen in March and April.
Ecological Properties of Bıttım
Bıttım prefers light, dry and warm soils with fine drainage. It displays best growing in alkali soils. It does not get much taller and grows slowly while it requires much light. It is dioecious.
Utilization
It is known that this soap produced from the oil extracted of Bıttım tree (pistacia terebinthus) fruits by employing traditional processes provides a healthy skin as well as contributing to bright, and soft hair without dandruff. Bıttım Soap, which has also features such as preventing loss of skin and hair and is obtained completely from natural oils, has no side effects at all.
